Freedom, Justice and Equality (Somewhere in Memphis)

We have gathered information, are still gathering information, will always be gathering information.  When will we have enough information so that we may begin implementing?  I suppose the first answer I would get is “never.”  So, considering that, I propose that you start where you are, start with what you have.  There is a phrase that references: “What’s in your hand?  God can use it.”  So, we encourage you to stop hiding your hand and let God use it.

 

On our way to freedom, justice, and equality we have a lot of self-work to be done…let’s begin to work on ourselves; let us reason with ourselves.  It is so easy to see fault in others…let us begin to try to see our own faults.  You know we used to ask questions like, “why me?” and then we begin to ask, “why not me?”  If we worked on and with our self-first, we probably would work with others more easily.  Who knows…then we may be able to see more importantly why we should, for example, build our own savings and loan…. since we do know that title loans, Cash Americas and other places are digging deeper holes for us.  Freedom, justice, and equality - we can make it happen.  After all, Dr. King did say, “a man can’t ride your back unless it is bent.”

 By Gemi Treadwell  A community ask why, but, received no answers. When they see an image like grandmother ‘s oak tree cut down laying lifeless on the ground. The tree had been a part of generations. Growing up in the Riverview Kansas part of town, where they played at the neighborhood park during hot summer months. The tree provided shelter from the sun, gave safety and comfort. It connected the community with nature. This tree also improved the air quality in the community. It was the place where children played games. Growing up during my teenage years, beneath that tree was where I had my first . The tree still had life. It generated energy for all to feel. We needs to know more about this decision. It was a viable loss. Yet the memories are still alive in our hearts and will remind us of what grounded our spirit for almost a century and it is still an ancestral family member.

Somewhere in St. Louis

The tonado hit St. Louis Mo. on May 16th. 2025. The damage affected most of the North side. Brown stone houses that have stood for hundreds of years where instantly reduced to rubble leaving the Northside in ruins. Never the less many of the residents have not moved away. They made a decision to stay and live among the ruins. This is their familiar space, the only place they have known and to them it will alwaus remain home. Many outsiders have come to helpp them rebuild and the work is great. Now God has placed me in the midst of this developing work to share their struggles of hardship and triumph. Somewhere in St. Louis

    I have always beleived in helping others. Although my family and friends may argrue that I am the most neediest person they know.  Prehaps this might very well be why I feel so called to help others. My prayers have always been God lead me to a place where I can make a difference. Day after day I have prayed to be called to a ministry in Africa or somewhere abroad. I just beleived I could make a difference by sharing my writings and ideas about survival and creating great things from little to nothing. Yes, I have those skills. Well, God finally answered but the answer was far from what I beleived it would be. Yes, He has given me the oportunity to serve Africans. Yes I will use my gift of writing to create major change. However, God in His infinite wisdom has landed me smack down in the middle of the tornado torn neigborhood of St. Louis. God is truly a comedian.
